What is “Sculpture that Rocks?”
“Sculpture that Rocks” most definitely characterizes the great Gutzon Borglum Sculpture of four of our greatest presidents on Mount Rushmore. Maybe I should say, Sculpture On Rocks!
“Sculpture that Rocks” is also a sculptured rocking chair in the style of the late woodworking icon Sam Maloof. It looks like it is moving even when standing still with its collection of hard lines, soft lines and organic s-curves.
It is also the name of my new show!
I have been teaching woodworkers to craft this chair for the past ten years, having taught the hands-on 6 or 7 day class 55 times. Woodworkers from all over the world (England, Ireland, Scotland, Canada, South Africa, New Zealand, Bosnia Australia and almost every state in the U.S.A) have journeyed to my shop to build a rocker with me.
Now “Sculpture that Rocks” is the name of my new show! Yes!I am still doing the Highland Woodworker! This show takes you around my shop with me, Charles Brock!
